Here’s a great free opportunity for Southeast shellfish businesses–start-up or established–to learn how to pitch their ventures and to meet potential investors:

Applications for South Atlantic and Gulf Coast Shellfish Workshop due Feb. 13, 2017.

This FREE workshop is open to start-ups and established businesses in the Southeast region of the US involved in any aspect of the shellfish industry as well as transparency and traceability ventures and supply chain innovators. Participants will learn how to communicate effectively about their businesses, practice pitching to investors and buyers, and prepare for the Fish 2.0 2017 business competition.

Fish 2.0 gives MBCOI, UNCW, the South Atlantic and Gulf Coast Shellfish Track Sponsors,  and participants a global platform to strengthen relationships among existing seafood industry stakeholders, raise the region’s profile as a center of innovation in aquaculture and the marine sciences, and attract new financial and intellectual capital and economic growth to the region. More than 60% of the finalists in the Fish 2.0 2015 competition gained investments, new partners or new customers from connections made during this event. Information on how to apply to Fish 2.0 2017 at no cost can be found here.
