A Geography of Oysters Crossword Puzzle Challenge

Apr 01, 2011

Richard Rush, Head Honcho of the Oyster Information Newsletter, is at it again. This time, he’s created a puzzle inspired by my book, A Geography of Oysters. Do it, find the secret word, tell me in person, and I’ll buy you a beer. Gotta be in person, though. Good luck!

Howdy! I have recently become a big fan of oysters, you, your Geography of Oysters, and just everything oyster-related! I will be attending the Naked Cowboy Festival and Oyster Bay Festival in Long Island, NY in October, maybe you will too =). I will solve and finish this puzzle with my boyfriend. We will earn that beer when you are somewhere in the vicinity of NYC.

I love the way you wrote this book, it’s so entertaining! I was reading it while driving back from Borders. I couldn’t wait till I got home.

Also, if you have any info on places in Long Island, NY where I can visit and farm oysters, please let me know.

    Till later,

Thanks, Lily, and good luck on the puzzle! Oyster Bay is the best place to check out an oyster operation, so you’ll be in good hands. Also, look for Chris Quartuccio, proprietor of the Naked Cowboys. I’m sure he’ll be obvious at the festival. Bon appetit!

  3. Lily Yan says:

Thanks for the heads up. I read about Chris Quartuccio through the website =) I just found out you’ll be at the Grand Central Oyster Bar for their annual event on the 25th of Sept. I already made reservations, so I will see you there!

  4. Lily Yan says:

Oh, I just double checked; it was for last year oops. Will you be there again this year on Sept 24th? Info is not up on their website yet.

  5. rowan says:

Not sure yet. I hope so; it’s a great event!
